How to scan a QR code online
- 01
Choose camera or image
Start the camera for a printed code, or switch to image upload for a saved QR code or screenshot.
- 02
Present a clear code
Hold the QR steady in the camera frame, or choose a sharp PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF image no larger than 10 MB.
- 03
Review the decoded result
Read and copy the raw content. Only valid HTTP or HTTPS results receive an Open link.
Private, local decoding
Camera frames and selected images are decoded on your device. LumenQR does not upload the image, save the scan result, or add it to your account. Web links are shown as clickable only when they use HTTP or HTTPS.
Need to create a code instead? Open the static QR generator.
If a QR code will not scan
- Use a sharper, higher-contrast image with the complete quiet zone visible.
- If camera access is blocked, allow permission in your browser or use image upload instead.
- Check a decoded destination before opening it; URL recognition is not a malware or reputation check.
